Agenda ItemConsent Agenda Action (VI-B-8-b)
SubjectSurplus Property
Recommended ActionIt is recommended that the Board of Trustees by unanimous vote: (1) declare the property on the attached list to be surplus; (2) find the property does not exceed the total value of $5,000; and (3) authorize the property to be consigned to The Liquidation Company to be sold on behalf of the District.

Background Narrative:

Education Code Section 81450 permits the Board of Trustees to declare District property as surplus if the property is not required for school purposes; is deemed to be unsatisfactory or not suitable for school use; or if it is being disposed of for the purposes of replacement. Education Code section 81452 permits surplus property to be sold at private sale, without advertising, if the total value of the property does not exceed $5,000. The District has determined that the property on the attached list does not exceed the total value of $5,000. To help defray disposal costs and to generate a nominal amount of revenue, the staff proposes that we consign the surplus property identified in the attachment to The Liquidation Company for disposal.
